Many labs and clinics in South Tyrol have used exocad for years without structured training, or are about to install it and do not know where to start. An exocad course in Bolzano and South Tyrol has a simple advantage: it can take place in the lab, on the participants’ workstations and cases, in Italian, German or English. This post explains how local training works, who it is for and how to prepare it.
In the lab or online
In South Tyrol the in-person course usually takes place in the participants’ lab. We work on the workstations where exocad will be used, with the lab’s libraries, materials and machines, and hands-on work with printers, mills and finishing can be included. What is set up during the course is already configured for the next day.
Live online training works well for individual technicians or short sessions on one topic: with screen sharing, you design on your own computer while following. Many labs combine both, one day in person and shorter online sessions on the cases that come in.
In Italian, German or English
Many South Tyrolean teams work in two languages, and so do clinic prescriptions. The course is held in the language the lab prefers, and in a mixed team it switches without changing the program. The software terms, which exocad shows in the chosen language, are explained in both versions.
What you learn
The program is built on the indications the lab actually produces. It usually starts with setup and materials, then crowns and bridges with the parameters that decide accuracy: cement gap, minimum thickness and connectors. The course is taught by an exocad Certified Trainer who works at the CAD every day, with anonymized cases from the lab when possible.
How to prepare
Before the course a short call clarifies experience, exocad version and modules, the scanners the clinics use and the lab’s indications. A working installation is needed on the workstations that will be used. If exocad is new or needs updating, do it beforehand, following updating exocad and the exocad system requirements.
