Cookie policy

This cookie policy explains which cookies and similar technologies vladpereverzyev.com uses. It is provided under Art. 122 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003, which implements the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC, the guidelines on cookies of the Italian Data Protection Authority of 10 June 2021 and the GDPR. It complements the privacy policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels or device fingerprinting, can store or read information in the same way. Technical cookies are needed for a website to work; analytics and profiling cookies track how you use it or build a profile for advertising.

2. Cookies used on this website

This website sets no cookies of its own. It uses two third-party analytics tools, Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics, only if you allow the statistics category in the banner and Google Ads, the Meta Pixel, the LinkedIn Insight Tag and Microsoft Advertising only if you allow the marketing category. In particular:

  • no technical cookies, because there are no user accounts, shopping carts and no forms that send data;
  • analytics cookies only through Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics and only after consent (see below);
  • advertising cookies only through Google Ads, the Meta Pixel, the LinkedIn Insight Tag and Microsoft Advertising and only after consent to marketing (see below);
  • no social media cookies;
  • no other tracking pixels and no fingerprinting by this website. The choice you make in the banner is kept in local storage, as described in section 3;
  • no embedded third-party content, such as videos, maps or booking widgets, that could set its own cookies.

When you allow statistics, Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited) counts visits, draws heatmaps and records sessions, that is a replay of scrolling, mouse movements and clicks on each page. Anything typed into a field is masked and the recordings are kept for 30 days. It sets these cookies:

  • _clck: keeps a Clarity user id so repeat visits are counted together; kept up to one year;
  • _clsk: ties the pages of one visit into a single session; kept for one day.

Clarity also lets Microsoft set third-party cookies on its own domains (clarity.ms, bing.com), which this website cannot read or delete: CLID (the first time Clarity saw this browser on any site), MUID (identifies the browser across Microsoft sites), MR and SM (refresh and synchronise MUID across Microsoft domains) and ANONCHK (always 0, since Clarity does not use the advertising id). Microsoft describes them in its Clarity cookie list. This website sends Clarity a consent signal that allows analytics and denies advertising storage.

When you allow statistics, Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) counts visits and pages and which contact links are clicked (WhatsApp, phone, email, booking, file upload, downloads), with the page and the part of the page they were on. The data linked to a visitor is kept for 2 months; after that only aggregate figures remain. It sets these cookies:

  • _ga: keeps a Google Analytics user id so repeat visits are counted together; kept up to two years;
  • _ga_<id>: keeps the session state for this property; kept up to two years.

When you allow marketing, Google Ads (Google Ireland Limited) records when a visit comes from a Google ad and whether it leads to a booking or a contact and lets Google show ads for this website to people who have visited it before. It sets these cookies:

  • _gcl_au: links a visit to the ad that brought it, so a booking can be counted for that ad; kept for 90 days;
  • _gcl_aw: keeps the click id when a visit arrives from a Google ad; kept for 90 days.

Google may also set its own cookies on its domains (for example doubleclick.net and google.com), which this website cannot read or delete; Google describes them in its list of cookies used by Google. Without consent to marketing none of these are set and Google Ads is not loaded.

When you allow marketing, the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited) records visits and clicks on WhatsApp, phone and email links and lets Meta show ads for this website on Facebook and Instagram to people who have visited it before. It sets this cookie:

  • _fbp: identifies the browser to Meta so that visits and contacts can be linked to an ad; kept for 90 days.

Meta may also set its own cookies on facebook.com, such as fr, which this website cannot read or delete. The booking page on Setmore (vladpereverzyev.setmore.com) runs the same pixel under Setmore's own cookie notice. Without consent to marketing the Meta Pixel is not loaded on this website.

When you allow marketing, the LinkedIn Insight Tag (LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company) records page views and clicks on WhatsApp, phone, email and booking links and lets LinkedIn show ads for this website to its members who have visited it before. LinkedIn reports to the advertiser only aggregate figures. It sets this cookie:

  • li_fat_id: links a visit to the LinkedIn ad that brought it; kept for 30 days.

LinkedIn may also set its own cookies on linkedin.com, such as bcookie, lidc and UserMatchHistory, which this website cannot read or delete. Without consent to marketing the LinkedIn Insight Tag is not loaded.

When you allow marketing, the Microsoft Advertising UET tag (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited) records page views and clicks on WhatsApp, phone, email and booking links and lets Microsoft show ads for this website on Bing to people who have visited it before. It sets these cookies:

  • _uetsid: ties the pages of one visit together; kept for one day;
  • _uetvid: recognises a returning browser so a visit can be linked to an ad; kept up to 13 months.

Microsoft may also set its own cookies on bing.com, such as MUID, which this website cannot read or delete. Without consent to marketing the UET tag is not loaded.

Clarity, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn and Microsoft Advertising data may be processed outside the EU under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under Microsoft's privacy statement and Google's privacy policy; see also the privacy policy. Without consent none of these cookies are set and you can withdraw consent at any time with "Cookie preferences" in the footer.

The language of a page is taken from its address (/, /it/, /de/) and is not stored on your device.

3. The preferences banner

Consent is required for cookies and technologies that are not strictly necessary. Statistics (Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics), marketing (Google Ads, the Meta Pixel, the LinkedIn Insight Tag and Microsoft Advertising) and external content are switched off unless you switch them on, so nothing in those categories is set or loaded before you allow it. Accept all, reject all and a per-category choice carry the same weight and you can change your mind at any time. Withdrawing consent stops the tools of that category, deletes their cookies and reloads the page.

Your choice is saved by your browser under the name vp-consent, in local storage on your device. Next to the choice it keeps the date, a random code and the version of the banner, so that it is clear what was chosen, when and on which text; the code does not identify you and both are shown in "Cookie preferences". It is technical, it is never sent with a request and it is kept for six months; after that the question comes back. When the banner text changes in substance, the question comes back sooner. You can change it at any time with "Cookie preferences" in the footer and deleting your browser data removes it.

4. Third-party websites

When you follow a link to another website, for example WhatsApp, Setmore, Dropbox, LinkedIn, YouTube or Udemy, that website may set its own cookies. Its cookie and privacy policies apply from that moment.

If cookies or similar technologies that need consent are added in the future, for example another analytics tool or embedded videos, this policy will be updated first and consent will be requested before any of them is used.
