Cookie policy

This cookie policy explains which cookies and similar technologies vladpereverzyev.com uses. It is provided under Art. 122 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003, which implements the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC, the guidelines on cookies of the Italian Data Protection Authority of 10 June 2021 and the GDPR. It complements the privacy policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels or device fingerprinting, can store or read information in the same way. Technical cookies are needed for a website to work; analytics and profiling cookies track how you use it or build a profile for advertising.

2. Cookies used on this website

This website sets no cookies of its own. It uses two third-party analytics tools, Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics, and only if you allow the statistics category in the banner. In particular:

• no technical cookies, because there are no user accounts, shopping carts and no forms that send data;
• analytics cookies only through Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics, and only after consent (see below);
• no profiling, advertising or social media cookies;
• no tracking pixels and no fingerprinting by this website. The choice you make in the banner is kept in local storage, as described in section 3;
• no embedded third-party content, such as videos, maps or booking widgets, that could set its own cookies.

When you allow statistics, Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited) counts visits, draws heatmaps and records sessions, that is a replay of scrolling, mouse movements and clicks on each page. Anything typed into a field is masked, and the recordings are kept for 30 days. It sets these cookies:

• _clck: keeps a Clarity user id so repeat visits are counted together; kept up to one year;
• _clsk: ties the pages of one visit into a single session; kept for one day.

When you allow statistics, Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) counts visits and pages. The data linked to a visitor is kept for 2 months; after that only aggregate figures remain. It sets these cookies:

• _ga: keeps a Google Analytics user id so repeat visits are counted together; kept up to two years;
• _ga_<id>: keeps the session state for this property; kept up to two years.

Clarity and Google Analytics data may be processed outside the EU under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under Microsoft's privacy statement and Google's privacy policy; see also the privacy policy. Without consent none of these cookies are set, and you can withdraw consent at any time with "Cookie preferences" in the footer.

The language of a page is taken from its address (/, /it/, /de/) and is not stored on your device.

3. The preferences banner

Consent is required for cookies and technologies that are not strictly necessary. Statistics (Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics) and external content are switched off unless you switch them on, so nothing in those categories is set or loaded before you allow it. Accept all, reject all and a per-category choice carry the same weight, and you can change your mind at any time. Withdrawing consent stops Clarity and Google Analytics, deletes their cookies and reloads the page.

Your choice is saved by your browser under the name vp-consent, in local storage on your device. Next to the choice it keeps the date, a random code and the version of the banner, so that it is clear what was chosen, when and on which text; the code does not identify you, and both are shown in “Cookie preferences”. It is technical, it is never sent with a request, and it is kept for six months; after that the question comes back. When the banner text changes in substance, the question comes back sooner. You can change it at any time with “Cookie preferences” in the footer, and deleting your browser data removes it.

4. Third-party websites

When you follow a link to another website, for example WhatsApp, Setmore, Dropbox, LinkedIn, YouTube or Udemy, that website may set its own cookies. Its cookie and privacy policies apply from that moment.

5. Managing cookies in your browser

You can view, delete and block cookies at any time in your browser settings. Instructions for the most common browsers:

6. Changes

If cookies or similar technologies that need consent are added in the future, for example another analytics tool or embedded videos, this policy will be updated first and consent will be requested before any of them is used.
